Is there a difference in cooking with natural gas vs. propane on a BBQ grill?

yetiboy asked:

Can you sear meat as well with natural gas as you can with propane? I’m used to cooking with propane but now I’ve hooked up a natural gas grill and am wondering if cooking will be different.
thanks

Propane burns HOTTER. You can basically cook the same way with natural gas as you do with propane.

If you have the correct burner set up you will notice little effect on cooking temps. The diameter of the heat elements holes are different for propane than for natural gas. Natural gas is used by people because it’s cheaper and can tap it from a stub if your house/restaurant uses natural gas.
