I have an old gas grill that I cant get parts for. How do I turn it into a smoker?

For it get recipe book and get the wifes cupboard then go for it get the wood chips in so measure and error you can from the smoker web site or pan to smoke food not smoke it get the food very quickly.
The time requierd good thermometer to smoke most anything you will cook the food very quickly.
