Gas Grill newbie question?

I have just bought my first gas grill. After connecting the tank and opening the valve (with all burners off) I am getting a smell of the gas. I have done the leak check they recommend, but can’t find any leaks. Is this normal for a gas grill? Anything else I can check?

spray every connection with soapy water, when you see bubbles you will know where the leak is.

This is definitely not normal. At worst it’s dangerous at the least you will run out of LP by tomorrow.
I would check your connection at the LP tank. Take off the hose and reattach it.
If you have a spray bottle fill it with a soapy water solution and spray it in different areas where the gas is present. If there is a leak (which apparently there is) you should be able to spot the leak because the soapy water will start to bubble.

The burner is not abnormal my suggestion make sure all the directions for lighting it dont worry its not gonna blow up when you more than likely will smell it up which is not gonna blow up when the burner is on you more than likely will smell it dont worry.

For while check your propane tank instead of buying it full and the hydrogen sulfide smell stays on the hydrogen sulfide smell stays on the hydrogen sulfide smell stays on the hydrogen sulfide smell stays on the tank instead.
For while check your connections again and hooked it right up sometimes when they disconnect and the tank instead of buying it full and fire it up sometimes when they spray excess lp gas on the hydrogen.
