Natural Gas vs Charcoal Grills - Which one is right for you?

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009
Nicole Martins asked:

Barbequing outdoors is a pleasure that anyone can partake in and with so many types of grills available you can practically cook anywhere. One exception to the list is a natural gas grill which needs a permanent hook up. Listed below are some of the main advantages / disadvantages and suggestions for both natural gas and charcoal grills to help decide which one is best for you.

Charcoal Grilling and Benefits

The backyard chef’s favorite challenge is to create the perfect fire for grilling to produce that mouthwatering smoky taste! Most popular and with about 80% of all American households owning one, is the barbeque grill. Approximately 47% of these bbq owners are cooking with good old charcoal. With brands such as Weber, clearly the most popular charcoal grill sold, as well as a household name, one might dismiss other quality charcoal grillers. But brands such as Brinkman and Hibachi are sought-after as are lesser known charcoal grillers Arctic, Meco, Aussie, Texas Pit Masters, Uniflame, Capital and Thermos, Fire Magic and others.

If you are looking to find the right barbeque charcoal grill, you are in luck. Why? Charcoal grills can add an extra smoky flavor to your grilling that gas grills can’t! And, these grills are affordable to suit any budget. That said, if you buy a fancy one with deluxe features, the price tag will be higher. However, compared to an outdoor gas grill featuring mechanical parts and a more complicated design, charcoal grillers are just more economical.

Which charcoal barbeque to buy?

Begin with a few simple questions. How many people will you be grilling for? Does the bbq need to be a specific grill type such as: portable, stainless steel or cast iron? Are you looking for a particular brand: Weber charcoal grills, Brinkman charcoal grills, Hibachi, Arctic, Patio Life, Meco, Aussie or something else

With a charcoal grill, if you are going to be cooking for a lot of people or just a few people, size matters. A small charcoal grill is 300 to 500 sq. in. cooking surface; a medium charcoal grill is 500 to 700 sq. in. cooking surface; and a large grill is 700 sq. in. and up. So make sure you are getting the size you that fits your needs. If you need something portable, take a look at the brands Weber and Arctic. You will find these to be lightweight and easy to carry. A lock-lid is a convenient portable barbeques feature for camping and outdoor picnicking. see: http://www.outdoor-fireplaces-and-patio-heaters.com/charcoal-grills.htm

Natural gas grilling and benefits

How many times have you wanted to barbeque on a Saturday night but were out of propane gas? With a natural gas grill you will never have to worry about the grilling disaster because you’ll never run out of propane while grilling steaks for friends. If you’re in the market shopping for a barbeque that will offer you great convenience and ease, then natural gas is the way to go. Why? Unlike charcoal grills, there is no waiting for the coals to heat up. With a natural gas grill you just push the button, turn the dial and ignite! And, since these barbeques are connected to the gas supply piping of the home, they are always ready for cooking.

How to choose the natural gas grill that’s right for you

It’s never easy deciding, especially when there are so many outdoor grill manufacturers to choose from: Weber, Broilmaster, Lynx, Fire Magic and many more. And besides the brands, you’ve got to figure out which brand model will suit your grilling needs. Here are some grill features to consider: What size cooking surface do you need? Does the barbeque need side shelves? Do you want a multi-burner system, meaning 2, 4, or 6 burners? Do you want warming shelves, a side burner, a grease catcher? And what about the grill’s appearance? Does it need need to fit into an outdoor kitchen? Or to match the décor of the exterior of your house?

Two great ways to decide are your particular budget and reviews. Read as many gas grill reviews as possible, talk to friends with natural gas grillers, and shop around locally and online. Whatever your needs and whatever you decide, adding a barbeque to your life, be it natural gas or charcoal, will never be something you regret. see: http://www.outdoor-fireplaces-and-patio-heaters.com/outdoor-gas-grills.htm

Top Notch Grilling Recipes

Sunday, February 15th, 2009
Rhonda J asked:

How do you know if your grilling recipes are top notch? A good indicator that your grilling recipes are the best around would be if they cause your friends to have tremors simply by thinking about the tender, juicy creations that you are cooking up. The thought of grilling recipes typically conjures incredible visions of over sized slabs of meat in the form of smoked ribs, spare ribs, lamb chops, hamburger patties and much more. What makes grilling recipes so fun, is the fact that there are also many great appetizer recipes which compliment traditional grilling quite well. For example, you should be able to use your barbecue or grill to make pizzas, hot and spicy wings, and a variety of other delicious snacks, even burritos and fajitas in the right circumstances.

The grill is an extremely versatile and diverse cooking medium, and grilling recipes can become just as diverse and versatile simply by adding other foods, additional side dishes, and simply tweaking your grilling recipes while you cook. If you are looking for a way to spice up your appetizers more quickly, you should consider blasting your gas grill to its max temperature, then turning it off and allowing the appetizers from your grilling recipes to cook immediately. Your food will cook very quickly this way, but your barbecue will not be burned in the process. This is especially useful when it comes to grilling recipes that include cheese, which can wreck havoc on your grill if you are not prepared. Don’t throw out any of your cheese-based grilling recipes, because the cheese will melt to absolute perfection in all of your recipes on your grill if you follow this handy tip!

Gas grills can be used to cook a variety of different grilling recipes, including anything that involves appetizers, steak, turkey and chicken. A full plate of food in a grilling recipe always contains more than a single solitary barbecued food. You should quell your hunger with Buffalo wings, kebabs and over sized spicy sausages. Any grilling recipes that contain chicken, turkey, steak or a variety of other types of meats and appetizers can easily be cooked up and enjoyed in the comfort of your own backyard on your hardworking gas grill. Learning a variety of different grilling recipes will ensure that you are constantly creating new, incredibly mouthwatering recipes to share with your friends, family and other loved ones. Tips For Cleaning Your Gas Grills Quickly and Safely!

Thursday, February 12th, 2009
Ron Carl asked:

Last month a friend of mine applied sprayed on oven cleaner, but while trying to rinse it off outdoor with the water hose, the grass died. That puts forth a question to how safe it is to use these oven cleaners.

You would potentially not wish to use any oven cleaner something like that because it is quite very taxing on your nerves to get all of the chemical washed away and once again really put your food flat upon those grates whilst broiling. Does not sound a real good idea, does it?

Here are some healthier alternative methods that you could try out instead!

What you can do is just get going the grill and let the grates get rattling raging. Then scour them down with a wire brush. Employ few metallic pair of tongs to force them off the grill and then hose them down. That way you don’t need to use any strong soap or detergents!

Another common way a lot of people usually employ is not cooking food directly on the grate. They’d rather put aluminum foil over the grate. However, in case you would like to have a clean looking grate for show, apply the oven cleanser but wash out the grate inwardly, maybe in your shower or sink. There’s a little disputation over expending Mr. Clean magic eraser, those are sold at Wal-Mart, Winn Dixie, jolly much anyplace. Some have laid claim that they are life threatening to be utilized because they contain formaldehyde, a potentially risky chemical used to preserve dead bodies! Even so, you will be able to rest assured that the factual chemical component is formaldehyde-melamine-sodium bisulfite copolymer, which is not in any case equivalent to precisely formaldehyde (methanal)! Therefore, in reality does not pose any heath risk if employed according to the instructions given!

Yet another choice for this is your applying your own laving liquid, baking powder, and a wire brush. First, soak the grates in adequate warm water , just so it cover them, then add up the baking powder, leave alone for about10 minutes approximately then wash off with your washing up liquid.

A different dependable commercial cleaner you could use is Grease Bullet, a non-toxic cleanser that’s hard on grease, but gentle on your hands! Simply fill up your sink with hot tap water, expend in the Grease Bullet, and douse your worst broiled on grills. In barely minutes, it will glisten like brand-new, inside and out, without any further scrubbing up! It cuts across begrimed surfaces and even charred grill grates! Equipped with enzymes that erode hardened on grime and stain, Grease Bullet can get your gas grill look as if new once again!

For more tips, head to a top search engine like DogPile.com. Type in keywords like, “grill cleaning tips” and read articles that turn up in listings. Print out those you want to keep and place them in a notebook for handy reference.

How do I start my Dynasty Gas Grill?

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009
enjoy_incubus87 asked:

It has a full tank hooked up to it and I hear the gas hiss when I turn the knob to “light”. The grill has 4 knobs, one for each tray of briquettes. There are about 30 briquettes per tray. The starter is a knob that is supposed to cause a spark to ignite the grill. It hasn’t worked yet. Any suggestions? Please be thorough.

The Fascination With Grilling

Monday, February 2nd, 2009
David Fishman asked:

In today’s market you have many grill choices to choose from, some grills are sophisticated high tech, use charcoal or use natural gas grills and call these grills have the equivalent power of kitchen oven or stovetop. All grills come in many different sizes, metals and shapes and they have many different features these features depends on the manufacture. Of course the primary purpose of the gas grill is for outdoor cooking, which would normally be meat or poultry and some people cook vegetables. The dimensions and weight of the barbecue grill need to be taken into account because you need the ability to adjust the grill when needed, plus you should check to see what type of cooking features the grill has.

Natural gas grills are all the craze in outdoor cooking, and it isn’t surprising why. When looking for the best grill for yourself make sure you shop around and all the stores and online to find the best price and the best quality grill, there are many out there so do your research. If you like hamburgers, steaks or hotdogs on the grill then an outdoor grill is perfect item to purchase.

There are many debates about the which is better charcoal or grill, many like the taste of the charcoal grill because it gives the food a distinct taste while the gas grill is clean burning and does not add additional taste to the food. During the winter months all you can think about is cooking on the grill and eating a great big juicy steak and having fun with all your friends while everyone congregates around the barbeque grill. The gas grill is ideal for cooks with little or no experience with outdoor cooking.

A gas grill can be quite easy to maintain and the grill will make many occasions fun and festive. By cooking meats, fish and many other foods on the grill this leads many peoples spirits to be raised just because they are cooking on grill. Many times the entire party revolves around grill cooking, get a grill that is reliable and each time you use it you will not be sorry.

Many barbecue purists argue that charcoal gives the food a better taste than the gas grills. There have been many tests conducted during the life of the barbecue, which is better the charcoal

When choosing a grill the type of features and the styles are up to you style of taste, but when choosing the grill make sure it is the correct size and the right shape, because where you place the grill is very important because of the smoke that it lets off. When shopping for a grill you need to look at certain criteria like the right BTU and the correct size and style, you will need to make sure that the grill fits your needs, this can be challenging. There are many features that vary like the number of burners, the amount of space needed for cooking the size of the grill, the other thing to look for is the materials used to build the grill.
