Outdoor grill: Gas? Wood pellets? Charcoal? Other?

I’ve got a lousy gas grill, and need another. Or could I convert and just start throwing charcoal or wood pellets into the bottom of what I’ve got? - setting the coals in a tray?

My urge is to get gas again. But I really need foolproof and low maintenance - because my wife uses this and I can’t keep her away from it and can’t get her to take good proper care of it.

I don’t know why the gas grill I’ve got won’t work. I just changed the regulator because I thought that was it, but it isn’t. (Worked great on first lighting… wouldn’t start next day.) Or am I the fool?

Before this lemon I had a Charmglow that survived 20 years! I just replaced the burners every few years. So I think I know how to take care of these things.

Any suggestions?
