Can anyone recommend a good, small gas grill?

May 17, 2008 By: admin Category: gas grills 1 Comment →

Ellen L asked:

We have a very small patio and I am finally ready to switch from charcoal to gas. (I know the food won’t taste as good but it will be so much easier.) I have looked everywhere and all the nice gas grills are about 60″ x 24″. I have enough room for something maybe half that size. I looked at The Coleman travel grill but I really want a more permanent type with a warmer rack. Don’t they make nice grills for people with tiny patios? By nice I mean something that is like the huge grills, not a $100.00 one from Big Lots that will last maybe a year or two.

Outdoor grill: Gas? Wood pellets? Charcoal? Other?

May 16, 2008 By: admin Category: gas grills 5 Comments →

marcus asked:

I’ve got a lousy gas grill, and need another. Or could I convert and just start throwing charcoal or wood pellets into the bottom of what I’ve got? - setting the coals in a tray?

My urge is to get gas again. But I really need foolproof and low maintenance - because my wife uses this and I can’t keep her away from it and can’t get her to take good proper care of it.

I don’t know why the gas grill I’ve got won’t work. I just changed the regulator because I thought that was it, but it isn’t. (Worked great on first lighting… wouldn’t start next day.) Or am I the fool?

Before this lemon I had a Charmglow that survived 20 years! I just replaced the burners every few years. So I think I know how to take care of these things.

Any suggestions?

Charlie

Should the vent hole on a gas grill leak a little gas while in use?

May 07, 2008 By: admin Category: gas grills 3 Comments →

rjr666 asked:

Bought a CharBroil gas grill used, noticed tape on the regulator, and realized the vent hole was taped shut. If all 3 burners are off and tank valve is open gas runs freely out the vent hole. When burners are on and I stick my nose to the regulator I can only sense a small whiff of gas. From what I’ve read this hole should be free of obstructions and it seems to grill better without the tape. This is my first gas grill, is this normal? What’s the purpose of that vent? Thanks.
