Buying a Gas Grill?

Hm I am gonna get a gas grill very soon.. and i know taht well charcoal grill would be wait better in certain aspects. But in this situation i have to settle with a gas one…

Do you have tips so that i can add the smokey, right-off-the-fire flavor to the food that i will make off my gas grill? Thanks

Any other suggestion about buying a grill and such? Thanks
